Is Permea right for you?

Prevention, Maintenance, Improvement… Permea

Do you suffer from discoloration, stubborn deep dermal pigmentation?  Most everyone has some form of skin discoloration from years of exposure to the elements, extensive sun damage, hormonal issues, birth control or even left over pregnancy mask.

The question becomes, what is the best treatment to help combat these tough skin issues?

The fastest and least invasive ways to treat dermal pigmentation is through laser treatments.  The type of skin damage dictates the type of laser and product treatment. We like Permea for many reasons, including that it is approved for all skin types and addresses many types of skin issues.

What is Permea?  Permea is a type of laser treatment. Lasers offer various types of wavelengths with varying degrees of penetration.  For example, Clear and Brilliant uses a wave length of 1440nm and the Permea handpieceuses a wave length of 1927nm.

The PERMEA 1927 nm hand piece is very unique and yet similar to Clear and Brilliant, similar in that it creates micro-channels in the skin.  The PERMEA hand-piece creates micro channels that are wider and shallower which increase the permeability of the skin 17 times!  This means it allows products to go 17 times deeper, more penetration of skin solutions when adding product after treatment.

What does this really mean?  The best analogy of the PERMEA LASER treatment is the skin is being aerated with micro channels that have a V shape channel similar to a slice of pizza.  Now visualize the wider, shallow aeration without a lot of heat.  This process allows permeability of product put on the skin right after the procedure and with these wider channels your skin will soak up your topical Vitamin C or Growth Factor. This synergistic relationship of procedure and products is key to optimum rejuvenation.

There are many different options of product to be applied to skin, but products and procedures should always be based on the individual needs of the patient.  For example, SkinCeuticals CE Ferrulic and Phloretin antioxidant serums will decrease the inflammation and build collagen.  Inflammation causes skin discoloration and everyone can use collagen building.

PERMEA IS A GOOD SOLUTION because it is approved for all skin types and addresses

  • Skin pigmentation issues at different levels
  • Skin Brightening
  • Improves photodamage (sun damage)
  • Elasticity

BEST PLACES FOR PERMEA USE

  • Face
  • Neck
  • Chest

AFTER TREATMENT

After treatment the skin tends to be a little red for 1-2 days.  Then the topical portion of your skin will begin to feel slightly like sand paper.  While your skin feels this way, others will not notice the change in texture.   Slight exfoliation begins 2-5 days post-treatment but can take up to 7 days.   By day 7 you will begin to feel a smoother softer skin.   In conjunction with your post care after skin treatment, directions on what skin care product(s) are right for you will be discussed to ensure you receive optimal results.

SKIN BEST PRACTICES

  • Continue to wear proper sunscreen all year long no matter where you live  Why?  Because no matter where you live there are UVA, A rays (ageing rays-premature ageing) and UVB-B rays (burn rays-skin cancers).  Patients that incorporate a daily sunscreen ritual will be investing in maintaining treatments results and preventing further damage.
  • Before any laser, a Visia Skin analysis is always completed to capture your skin baseline.  I have my baseline Visia from 2006, which I would be happy to share with you. At 56 my skin looks better today than it did at age 44.

My team and I am very passionate in helping  you receive the correct information and guidance for the best skin care treatment(s). Watching the skin change and turn back your clock is exciting for us!

The more you educate yourself the better decision you make for all you needs. We strive to educate our patients and offer the best possible solutions based on your needs. We would love to help you!
