What are Bioidentical Hormones?

Bioidentical hormones are man-made hormones derived from plant estrogens that are chemically identical to those that the human body produces. Estrogen, Progesterone, DHEA and Testosterone are among those most used in treatment. Bio-identical hormones come in various forms, including:

  • Oral Pills

  • Creams

  • Pellets

Bio-identical hormones can be used to treat women and men when their hormone levels drop or become unbalanced. It’s most frequently used to ease symptoms of women who are peri-menopausal, for Women who are battling symptoms and side effects during menopause and for post-menopausal women.  Women even in their 20’s and 30’s can have hormone imbalance issues and may benefit from Bio-identical hormone replacement. Male hormones frequently can be imbalanced as they age, which can cause many of the common symptoms and conditions listed below. However, there are instances like hypogonadism that can occur at any age. Bio-identical hormones may also be used to improve symptoms of cancer treatment or to treat conditions such as:

  • Insulin resistance

  • Adrenal and Thyroid

  • Disorders

  • Osteoporosis

  • Weight
